1、對彩鋼板的火災危險性和火災危害性認識不足。彩鋼夾芯板以彩色涂層鋼板為面材，芯材主要有聚苯乙烯、聚氨酯、巖棉三種。前兩種是在兩層薄鋼板中間夾入不同厚度的聚苯乙烯(簡稱苯板)或聚氨脂，這種材料一旦受到高溫火花或明火作用時立刻燃燒，因材料自身的蜂窩狀結構決定了與空氣的接觸面加大，燃燒起來非常猛烈，撲救過程中，水和滅火劑只能噴到彩鋼板外面的鋼板上，不能直接作用于夾層里的燃燒物，且燃燒產物毒性特別大，易造成人員傷亡，此類材料因造價相對較低，非常受投資商或開發商的青睞。后一種是在兩層薄鋼板中間夾入不同厚度的巖棉，該材料屬非燃燒材料，防火隔熱作用比較好，但因其造價相對高，一般投資商或開發商都不愿使用。

2、部分彩鋼板建筑項目未經消防審核、驗收，致使彩鋼板建筑存在先天隱患。在建設中有的項目在設并未考慮防火設計，或者雖有防火設計但在施工過程中未按圖施工，項目竣工后未經消防驗收，致使可以把關的幾個環節都忽略了。
